National Plan for EU Integration
The National Plan for European Integration (NPEI) is a document of the Albanian government which is prepared within the framework of the European integration process of Albania. This Plan includes legal acts foreseen to be adopted by the Albanian institutions over a 3 years period. These acts approximate EU directives and regulations and best European and international standards. The legal acts are divided in the 33 chapters of acquis, whereas each chapter covers a specific policy area of EU.
The drafting of a plan for approximation of the acquis started in September 2007, with the adoption of the National Plan for the Implementation of the SAA (NPISAA) 2007–2012.
The national plan in its actual format was drafted for the period 2014-2020. This plan was abolished with the approval of PKIE 2015-2020, updated annually
